One Hope of Many People: Philanthropy
We the sisters of Sigma Delta Tau are committed to philanthropic endeavors, because we believe they foster both character development and community unification.
In the past, Sigma Delta Tau has held a number of charitable events, as well as participating in numerous on and off-campus events, including but not limited to Phi Sig's Kickball for Kids, Alpha Chi's Kick Off, Chi O's Sand Slam, Zeta Psi's Splash Down, Lambda's Watermelon Smash, AXD's Amazing Race, Martha's Table, MLK JR Day of Service, and much more.
Additionally, we have sisters who serve in APO, the community service fraternity on campus, as well as sisters who dedicate their time to causes near and dear to their hearts, such as ALS, Alzheimer's, Aneurysms, Cancer, and much more.
In fact, we are so dedicated to the community service cause, that we have partnered with 3 primary charities which is unique to our organization!
To learn more about our 3 charities, explore below!
Jewish Women International (JWI)
As a nation-wide affiliate of Sigma Delta Tau chapters, each year, we partner with JWI to sell specially-designed purple nail polish for their "Girls Achieve Greatness" campaign. Proceeds directly benefit women shelters by providing for women afflicted by domestic violence.
Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA)
Sigma Delta Tau's national philanthropy. Each year, our chapter raises money through a variety of events: Flag Football with another Greek org, Sig Delt Survivor, and much more. PCAA benefits abused and neglected children; proceeds go directly towards their programs.
Sigma Delta Tau Foundation
A select philanthropy of our chapter, each year, we raise funds through a variety of efforts. Funds received directly benefit women of Sigma Delta Tau across the nation, as proceeds are put towards helping pay for disadvantaged members to attend school, and may also help pay for dues.
